Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is one of the most frequent bowel diseases. It is a functional disease, which means that it is not associated with structural abnormalities, and it is more common in women, rather than men. It’s characterized by recurrent abdominal pain that is associated with defecation and/or a change in bowel habits. Disordered bowel habits are typically present (constipation, diarrhea or a mix of both), as are symptoms of abdominal bloating or distension. Symptoms can be debilitating for many patients and can affect their quality of life.

Always consult your doctor.

Gastroesophageal Reflux

It is a frequent disease, caused by the rise of part of the gastric acidity content from the stomach to esophagus, which may cause inflammation. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) appears when there is a dysfunction of the sphincter that should prevent the reflux of gastric content back to the esophagus. This disease can cause uncomfortable symptoms, such as heartburn (burning sensation in the chest area), acidic reflux to the mouth, dysphonia (hoarseness of the voice), cough or even dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing).

Always consult your doctor.
